Early Literacy Tip
Not all books you share have to be stories.... when you look at the pictures in a non-fiction book or read a wordless book your child is building background knowledge about the world. This will help them make sense out what they read later on. You can also extend the story and ask the child to narrate when you have books that have limited words such as
No. Reading with your children will help them get ready to read! (Practice: Reading)
Beautiful wordless books to checkout:
The Lion & the mouse by Jerry Pinkney
Thunderstorm by Arthur Geisert
A ball for Daisy by Christopher Raschka
Flotsam by David Wiesner
